Rams trade for Brandin Cooks

The Rams have traded for a wide receiver, but it isn’t Odell Beckham.

Per multiple reports, that the Rams and Patriots have agreed to a trade that will send Brandin Cooks to Los Angeles. The Patriots will also send a fourth-round pick to the Rams while the Rams will send the 23rd pick of this year’s draft and a sixth-round selection to New England.

The Packers must revamp their edge pass rush as they flip their base 3-4 defense to Mike Pettine’s watch. Either Landry or Marcus Davenport makes sense for their scheme as freakish athletes who can wreak havoc in the backfield.

The Cardinals are a team to watch to make a move for a QB in the top five, but with the way things have shaken out in this mock, we still can attach them to Allen at No. 15. Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon were signed in free agency, but neither can be trusted as a solution beyond 2018. Allen needs a little time to hone his accuracy and mechanics to match his arm and athleticism. Arizona’s situation allows for that.

That doesn’t mean the Broncos have everything they want at the position. Finding a consistent third option has been among the team’s offensive issues over the last couple of seasons, which is why they drafted Carlos Henderson in the third round of last year’s draft.

Henderson didn’t provide any help, however, because he missed the entire regular season with a torn ligament in his thumb. Coach Vance Joseph said this week that the team is looking for Henderson to hit the ground running this year.

“We’re counting on that kid to come in and play for us, especially in the slot,” Joseph said, via the Denver Post. “Or even [Sanders] goes to the slot and [Henderson] goes outside. Someone has to go into the slot and win the one-on-ones so we can get fair coverages on third downs.”

The Broncos are short on other options to join Sanders and Thomas in the lineup, so they may go back to the well in this year’s draft to increase their chances of hitting on the right offensive mix.
